Kris from Alberta, Canada – cutthroat trout

Kris graduated from high school and Greg decided it was time to do a fishing trip to the Bitterroot with him. They live in Canada and have plenty of beautiful mountains and rivers there, but coming to the Bitterroot was something special. Nice fish, Kris. Jack Mauer is holding it for him.

Greg Yavorsky is IFMGA Mountain Guide for Yamnuska Mountain Adventures. They have an awesome site. One of the links talks about wind power of personal computers. These people think of everything.

Doc Bolton and his nephew, Pete, fly fishing the Bitterroot River

Doc Bolton and his nephew, Pete, fly fishing the Bitterroot River

It was a pretty cold day on the Bitterroot but the fishing was good. Doc Bolton is a good friend that has property on the Bitterroot River. He lives here part-time and is fortunate to have some time here right now. He and his nephew fished with Jack the other day. I am just now getting to the photos. See them all in the slideshow below.

Fly Fishing the LOWER Bitterroot for trout and pike with Bob and Ferguson

Fly Fishing the LOWER Bitterroot for trout and pike with Bob and Ferguson

Bob with a lower Bitterroot River trout
Jack met Bob and Ferguson at a public access and fished the very LOWER Bitterroot for trout and pike. This is near the confluence of the Clark Fork and Bitterroot Rivers and is great habitat for both species of fish. Here are 4 different views of one of Bob’s nice cutthroat trout.

Jack brought one pike home to give to a friend who likes to eat them but they didn’t get any photos of pike.

I like showing the river and it’s features, but also to show close up views of the trout. Here is the slideshow of the 4 photos.
